What counts as a boarding school?
If you go to any school where people live there, you go to a boarding school (this doesn't include schools where hobos live in the custodial closets). This does include community schools, so-called "reform schools," military schools, prep schools, etc.
Who qualifies to submit to Boardspace?
Pretty much anyone affiliated with a boarding school--boarders, day students, alumni, angry townies, etc. We mean anyone - we're fairly lax in this 'requirement'.
Where is Boardspace located?
The great thing about Boardspace is that we don't really have a location. We have contributors working together and submitting from every corner of the globe.
How do I submit to Boardspace?
Hop over to the submission guidelines here.
How are submissions chosen?
Submissions are reviewed by the editors. Each editor will rate the submission in a blind viewing or reading (aka without knowing the author's identity) based on originality, creativity, and technical skill. Op-eds will be considered by relevancy, technical skill, and potential for debate.
I'm interested in becoming an editor or school correspondent. How do I apply?
Fantastic! We love you already. You can visit our application page here.
How often does Boardspace come out?
Boardspace releases one issue per school semester.
When will I find out if my work has been approved or not?
You will be notified within 2 weeks after the submission deadline.
Do I keep the publishing rights to my piece after it has been published in Boardspace?
We ask that after notification of approval you do not submit your work anywhere else until the next issue of Boardspace is released. If your piece is published elsewhere after that, we ask that you include a credit line: "Previously published in Boardspace Magazine, www.boardspacemag.com, [season], [year]." We do accept simultaneous submissions, though we ask that you promptly notify us if your work has been accepted somewhere else.
Do you accept previously published work?
No, except for pieces published in your school's publication(s).
